Did you ever want to reach out to Ashton Kutcher? If the answer to that tantalizingly question is yes, then by golly, you’re in luck! Because the famous film and television actor just shared his phone number on Twitter, in an attempt to make a “real connection with real phone.” Seriously. You have the possibility of texting “hey” or whatever else you wish to say to Ashton Kutcher right this second. Here’s the message, along with the number:

I miss having a real connection w/ real people. My Community. From now on you can just text me. I won’t be able to respond to everyone but at least we can be real w/ each other & I can share the unedited latest & greatest in my world +1 (319) 519-0576 Yes this is my #

In the since-deleted tweet, as it was reported by Entertainment Tonight, Ashton Kutcher took to Twitter to make an effort to reach out to his fans in a personal and direct manner. Sure enough, there were several people who made a point of texting the movie/television star to see what would happen if you actually contacted the number above. When you plug the number into your phone and text Mr. Kutcher, you are instantly greeted by this message.

hey it’s Ashton. this is an autotext to let you know I got your message, everything else will be from me. make sure you click the link and add yourself to my phone so I can respond to you

From there, it’s a bit of a gamble if you’re going to hear back from Ashton Kutcher or not. Some fans have actually gotten personalized texts from Kutcher, including pictures and direct responses, while other fans have found themselves unable to connect with the actor beyond the automated first text one receives after texting the number provided.

I also decided to text Ashton Kutcher, as a bit of journalistic obligation (obviously). And thus far, I have found myself in the latter category. And considering how Kutcher deleted the text with his phone number included, it sounds like this experiment might’ve been short-lived. There’s certainly the strong possibility that the actor is regretting the chance for the world to personally interact with him.

Ashton Kutcher certainly isn’t the first actor to provide his digits to the world. Dakota Johnson and Chrissy Teigen have both done it in the past — both intentionally and not. But whether the future will find celebrities sending personalized texts to fans is something left undetermined. And the actor hasn’t responded publicly to the stunt, so there’s a chance that he wants this whole thing to brush over as soon as humanly possible.

Or maybe he loves it? It’s honestly hard to know. If you want to reach out to Ashton Kutcher and ask him yourself, you know how to get ahold of him.
